At the Annual General Meeting of Llangefni Town Council on Monday 12th May 2025, Councillor John Egryn Lewis was elected as Mayor alongside Councillor Margaret Ann Thomas as Deputy Mayor for the year 2025-2026.
Councillor John Egryn Lewis has been a dedicated member of the Community, taking on the role with the determination to work tirelessly on behalf of the residents of the Community and taking on all the responsibilities that come with the position. He has a long history of being a Local Authority Councillor at both County and Community levels and on the Town Council.
Upon accepting the position, on behalf of all the Council Members, he thanked the former Mayor, Councillor Terry Jones, for his contribution during the year and specifically for raising a generous amount of money for a charitable organization. He also thanked the former Deputy Mayor, Councillor Richard Parry.
Councillor Margaret Ann Thomas, who has previously been the Mayor of the Town, will support him. As a Members of the Town Council, she supports Community Organisations in practical ways, such as being a member that assisted in the establishment of Canolfan Ebeneser, Canolfan Glanhwfa as well as other Organisations within the town.
